2019 | Project in partnership with Open Architecture NYC. Street Lab is a non-profit creating pop-up activities for children on the streets of New York City and in public housing project courtyards in the summer time. We created a knock-down table that is able to be reconfigured at two different heights for both older and younger children’s’ activities. The table is cut by CNC. With two tables per sheet of wood there is little waste. Production in 2020. Patent pending.
Summer 2020. Play streets are a long-standing tradition in New York City where streets are closed to traffic for play, usually during summer when school is closed. This version is a pop-up obstacle course made of plywood and awning mesh and creates as a no-touch play opportunity during the Covid-19 pandemic. We are currently testing prototypes with Red Hook Initiative, the Fresh Air Fund and other partners around NYC. Thank you to the Pratt Faculty Development Fund for funding first prototypes.
New version coming in 2021!
